Ice dams form when heat escapes the attic, melts snow, and refreezes at cold eaves. The ice lifts shingles and drives water under the roof into insulation and drywall. We remove ice with low-pressure steam — no hatchets — then rebuild damaged eaves with ice-and-water membrane when needed.

Spring is when the damage shows
Many Metro Detroit ranches and colonials with modest attic insulation are ice-dam machines. Damage often appears as stained exterior walls, wavy eaves, or interior drips during the thaw — not only during the storm.
We repair what winter broke. We don’t use ice damage as a free-inspection funnel into a replacement contract. If the roof field is spent, you’ll get that in writing with photos; the reroof decision stays yours with another contractor.
Same-visit leak diagnostics are $189 and credit toward permanent repair work when you approve it the same day.
